LOGISTICS MARKETING BLOG

Marketing for Logistics Businesses

Jim Bierfeldt

Jim Bierfeldt is the founder and chief strategist at Logistics Marketing Advisors, a marketing firm that helps logistics businesses define and communicate their value, and then translate that value into revenue.

I am starting this logistics marketing blog for very selfish reasons. I want to get smarter.

The discipline of blogging, however often you do it, involves sitting down and thinking through an idea, perhaps to a level you wouldn't have if you weren't trying to communicate the thought clearly. In the process of thinking about and researching the thought, you can arrive at insights you might not otherwise have gained. Smarter.

Mostly, blogging promotes social exchange. Feedback that challenges or enhances ideas in a way that leads to a better or even a new understanding of the topic. By sharing ideas with folks most probably way smarter than me, I expect to learn -- and hopefully make some new friends and connections along the way.

So, there you have my motivations. Here’s the sort of marketing thoughts I hope to offer up every other Friday at 1 PM pm EST, starting on May 23.

  • Insights into how buyers of logistics services think
  • Smart stuff that worked for me and might work for you
  • Stupid stuff that didn't work and that you might want to avoid
  • New ways to think about old marketing challenges
  • Marketing ideas from outside logistics that you could apply

While I’ll probably manage to weave in thoughts about baseball, running, movies, old Seinfeld episodes, and some of my other favorite things, the blog will deal with one topic and one topic only: marketing logistics services and products.

Hope you can join the conversation. To make sure you don’t miss a post, please join my email list.
